More about our host, Culver City: Culver City was once a land of cattle ranches and estates, until it was united by Harry H. Culver, a businessman from Nebraska, who incorporated the land and established the city under his namesake in 1917. The city grew through the era of prohibition in the 1920’s (bootlegging and night clubs abounding), the 1930’s and WWII, the 1940’s and the rise of the automobile (local car dealerships abounding), and up and onwards to the modern day hustle and bustle that is downtown Culver. Nowadays Culver City, known also as “The Heart of Screenland”, serves as the home to much of the Los Angeles entertainment industry, with core players in film, games and theater located in the lovely downtown area.
