The Culver City Fire Department was founded in 1922, replacing the still-young city’s five-year-old volunteer brigade with its single truck housed in a local layman’s residence. With its original station established in 1928, Firestation One has since been remodeled and refurbished, and the new station opened in 1993. There are sixty-two members of the Culver City fire department, working hard to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the Culver City community, and two other stations serving in conjunction with Firestation One.
