What is IndieCade?

The IndieCade Festival is the biggest independent game celebration in the nation. This premiere event is held each October in the Los Angeles Area and is open to the industry and to the public.

Events take place October 9th - 12th, 2014 and include a professional conference track, business networking, social events, tournaments and entertainment, as well as family-focused activities, meet-and-greets with game creators, hands-on gameplay with more than 150 top independent games.

IndieCade offers a unique opportunity to play and preview the latest innovative indie games of all types and rub shoulders with the creators of the newest games, as well as legends from across the industry.

The Games

The IndieCade Festival is a celebration of the top indie games of the year. More than 150 IndieCade selected games of all types will be available to play, alongside their creators. Hands-on gameplay includes IndieCade Award Winning, Nominees, and Special Selections, which include digital, table games, and real world.

Games span genres and platforms and expectations. Get the chance to play games you are anticipating before they become hits, games that can only be played at IndieCade, or games and people that you never would have known about. Plus you get a chance to vote for your favorite game to receive the Audience Choice Award at the end of the Festival.

Sessions

Sessions

IndieCade runs multiple conference tracks throughout the festival. All conference sessions correspond with pass types.

Professional sessions are tailored to industry and gamecreators , academics, creatives, and dedicated game developers (All Access). IndieXchange sessions are for working developers (IndieXchange), and GameU for aspiring creators (GameU). Additionally the festival grounds will host some Artist Talks and the GameTasting and other presentations.

Exhibitors

Exhibitors at the Festival!

IndieCade Village is packed with exhibitors. More than 50 sponsored selections from partners such as PlayStation, Nintendo, Oculus VR, Facebook, Ouya, and more will be available for hands on gameplay. Many of these games are on display at IndieCade well before they will be released to the greater public.

In addition to the exciting games there is a chance to sample and speak with the creators of forward thinking Virtual Reality. alternative controllers, and motion capture. Discover these technologies at the VR Zone. Leap Motion, Perception Neuron, as well as opportunities to talk to some of leading tool makers like Unreal Engine.

Night Games

Special Events: Beer Garden Jam & Party, NightGames & Closing Awards

IndieCade’s annual beer garden party takes place Friday, October 10th. Socialize, entertainment, and try out the games created earlier that day for the party!

Night Games are a unique and memorable annual event at IndieCade. Saturday night, October 11th starting at 7 pm the IndieCade village transforms as people play specially curated games under the stars and experience and a memorable festival highlight. The votes are tallied! Join us in the IndieCade Village on for final gameplay at the Closing Awards, October 12th at 5:00 pm for announcements for the Festival Audience, Developer, and Media Choice Awards.
