We are proud to announce all-new dates for our fourth annual IndieCade East, this April 29 - May 1, 2016 at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City.
Join us for three days of talks, panels, workshops, exhibits, and games throughout the museum, curated from IndieCade’s diverse and brilliant community of designers, thinkers, and players. The conference is complemented by workshops covering a range of topics, from introductions to popular digital gamemaking tools to hands-on game design lessons. IndieCade East will include the highly popular Show and Tell showcase, an eSports tournament, Night Games, and much more.
As always, we’re working hard to make IndieCade East a vibrant, welcoming, and community-focused experience for our speakers, gamemakers, and guests. Alongside our usual programming we are stepping up our game to include practical sessions and opportunities for designers creating works in non-commercial spaces.

The creative act frequently resists the constraints from which it is born. For designers of games and interactive experiences, the challenge of creating experiences that are both expressive and replicable has proved a productive tension, resulting in unique controllers, unusual displays, and novel interactions that incite curiosity and undermine expectations.
Strange Arcade features dozens of games and experiences that use costume controllers, embedded media technologies, reappropriated consumer devices, and other subverted technologies to create strange play performances and explore new ways of sharing stories.
This year we're featuring three days of talks and workshops around creative industries, community support, and tools & technologies. There's something for everyone, from experienced designers and veteran artists to folks just getting started, we hope to see you there!
IndieCade brings forward lessons and insights from an incredibly broad range of practitioners – inside and outside games – that allow us to blaze forward in our thinking, change our minds about long-held assumptions, and do better work every day.
