Can you create the raddest spaceship? Captain Forever Remix is the spaceship builder roguelike. Voyage across the Solar System and blast apart randomly-generated enemies for spare parts.
You better build a pretty tough ship, because you're gonna need it. Your little brother turned into a bubblegum mutant and is being a total butthead. He froze the Sun, poked out Jupiter's eye, drank Neptune's oceans, and cracked Earth like an egg! Set off across a messed-up Solar System to put a stop to the big jerkface once and for all!

Captain Forever Remix is inspired by the late 80's/early 90's heyday of Saturday Morning Cartoons, and nostalgia for being a kid with an overactive imagination. We wanted to create a completely new world with weirdo characters and epic space battles and tell a story in an unconventional way: your playground is the imagination of a young sister & brother sibling pair, enjoying a game of make-believe on a lazy Saturday morning. We felt like this fit neatly with the theme of creativity and playfulness in the core mechanic of building spaceships.
We also wanted to avoid the stereotypes you see in sci-fi action games. Our hero is Natalie Norberry, a young girl with tons of creativity, who becomes Captain Forever (defender of the Solar System!) when she plays make-believe with her brother Kevin (aka King Kevin the all-powerful bubblegum mutant!).
The original Captain Forever was quite stark with a strong feeling of isolation. Farbs was really successful in building a very specific world with a unique tone. We're doing a Remix of that game, so Brian and I wanted to explore a very different tone, and Farbs was very supportive of that.
