At the core 'Eli' is a study in power between individuals, explored through a backdrop of bullying. Or, if you like, a look at bullying through the lens of power. The game is set at primary school, among children, as we are less inhibited before our morale develops.
The game mechanics is based around relation building, visualiz as a top-down network (the pictures on the game site explains this much better than I ever could in text). The finished game has much simpler social puzzles than I first planned for, necessary to put the story and the characters in the first room.
This is our attempt to make a more non-linear story driven game. This is of course properly hard, but we think we got something working. On a personal not I am also happy with the save-system, how it allows jumping back to earlier branches, and how that works with the exploration of the situations.
In short, we think 'Eli' provides a great take on everyday power between individuals, with some neat game mechanics you just might not have seen before.
