About FutureGrind

FutureGrind is a futuristic stunt-platformer game. We think it’s a bit like Uniracers meets OlliOlli. Played on a track made of rails that run through a 3D environment, you control a futuristic, motorcycle-sized vehicle called a "grinder". Your grinder has two wheels: one blue, and one red. You have to get from the start of the track to the end in one piece, while scoring the most points possible. Be careful: do NOT let the wrong wheel touch. Your blue wheel can touch blue rails, your red wheel can touch red rails, but touch the wrong rail and you’ll cause a short circuit. Watch out, short circuiting leads to, well, a bit of a mess.

Survival is important in FutureGrind, but it’s really just the baseline. In order to succeed, you’ll need to get good at doing chains of tricks. Points are awarded to you based on how you grind on the rails. Balance on top of a rail for a Manual. Boost up into the bottom of a rail for an Undergrind. Dangle from the top of a rail for a Hanger, and so on. Rack up long grinds to increase your score. Do flips in the air for big points. Transfer between rails flawlessly to build your chain multiplier. Only skilled players will earn endorsements from The Sponsors and progress through the game.

Developer's Artistic Statement

FutureGrind first existed as a small 2D prototype that Matt developed a few years ago. In mid-2014, we pulled out Matt’s prototype and knew that this was the game we wanted to make. We had a hunch that the game would work better with 3D art, and once we saw the game in action in 3D, we knew we were on to something special. We approached the musician bignic about writing an original soundtrack for the game, as we were huge fans of the music he did for Corporate Life Simulator. We also asked Simon Kono (artist on Mushroom 11) to work on concept art for the game. As things started to come together, we got more and more excited to make FutureGrind the best game we could. In Feb, 2015 we announced the game would be coming to PS4.
