SPACE-SHIPPED

About SPACE-SHIPPED

SPACE-SHIPPED is a glow-in-the-dark field game about four rival alien shipping companies fighting over delivery routes. Go toe to toe (or claw to hoof, rather) with friends and strangers, using blacklights to reveal hidden sigils and rush packages back and forth between planetary outposts marked by blinking LED balloons.

Developer's Artistic Statement

SPACE-SHIPPED is a big game in a little box inspired by playground games which transpose incredible foreign environments over ordinary and familiar spaces. Imagination is the original AR- remember classics like The Floor Is Lava? We strove to create a fresh, hybrid field game that borrowed all the very best from living rulesets like tag and capture the flag, with characters, premise, and props to encourage roleplay amongst players. The game has a unique and exciting relationship with the space in which it is hosted. It's been played in a variety of spaces- from tiny local playgrounds, to overgrown parking lots, to professionally groomed soccer fields -and every new venue represents a newly instantiated imaginary galaxy, an opportunity space with its own topography and sense of place. It's a playground game, a game of runaround make-believe for sapient creatures of all ages.
