The End Of The World is a 2D - one hand- car combat game with the flavour of the 90's style arcades.
You will be the ultimate responsible of the end of the world as you fight against the intercesor forces of the President of The World.
There are 3 history levels + 4 survival levels available at all time.
Fernando started The End Of The World as a hobby project with school friend Sergi Montaner who was finishing Computer Science Degree at that time and a friend of a friend Dani Vega who was at an art school.
We rented a small basement near Sagrada Familia to see movies, get drunk and develop the game.
The J2ME version of the game got the Gamestorming people's choice award.
Later we ported the game to XNA and contacted with Alfons to make the game music.
Now we all work from home, when we don't feel too tired of our regular jobs, using trello and skype.
The End Of The World simulates a game played on an arcade cabinet from the early 90's.
The game has a top down view with an imposibly dramatic perspective that lets you see the buildings on both sides of the road.
We ported the game to the XNA platform without changing the arcade 8bit game feel.
We added some shaders like the fisheye effect and scanlines to reinforce that feeling.
