//IndieCade Conference

IndieCade will promote the innovative culture of independent games through a lively and accessible mix of talks, panel discussions, informal conversations and gallery conversations involving independent game creators, game industry professionals, journalists and critics. Sessions will cover topics from design to technologies to production processes to business considerations and each day is comprised of three parts - morning talks, panels and salons; afternoon gallery visits and artist conversations; and evening special events. IndieCade's 2010 Conference is co-chaired by Richard Lemarchand (Naughty Dog) & John Sharp (SCAD). Click here to learn more.

//Game Walk

Spend the weekend wandering in and out of galleries and cafés throughout downtown Culver City, playing games and meeting game creators. The crowned jewel of the festival, 30 finalist games will be installed for hands-on gameplay at multiple gallery locations, as well as many other games and gameplay experiences at more than a dozen locations. Plan to spend many hours engaged in gameplay. Finalist games will be announced late August. The Game Walk is open to the public. A map of all Game Walk locations will be posted on the website and available at the event.

// Outdoor Big Games

This year the IndieCade festival will be showcasing some of the best outdoor big games from other festivals such as Come Out and Play (NYC) and Hide and Seek (London). This event is a showcase of social games that make use of public space and explore unique sites in Culver City. Big games will run daily and are open to the public. A schedule will be posted in the coming weeks. Big Games at IndieCade is co-curated by Colleen Macklin (PETLab/Parsons) and Jeff Watson (Play LA/USC)

//IndieCade 2010 Awards

IndieCade holds two award events. An intimate award ceremony and reception Friday, October 8 @ 8:00 PM. Following the show, award winners and finalists will be at their games and conducting artist presentations throughout the weekend. The IndieCade Audience and Game Creator's Awards and 10-10-10 Closing Party, one of IndieCade's most spirited community events, Sunday, October 10 starting @ 5:00 PM. Games are selected by audience vote throughout the festival.

//IndieCade's Family Day

Programs include special Big Games, exclusive gamemaker presentations, workshops hosted by game design programs at leading university and colleges, and ongoing board game "modding." Family Day will take place on Sunday, October 10.
