//IndieCade Mobile 3D GameJam presented by LG Electronics
INDEPENDENT GAME DEVELOPERS are invited to participate in a two-day game jam, August 6th - 7th, to create games for the LG Thrill 4G, the world's first 3D smartphone. The LG Thrill 4G, using Real 3D, offers glasses-free 3D, front-and-rear cameras, 3D video capture and more. Participating developers will compete to create innovative, compelling, playful game protoypes that explore the dimensionality of this new 3D game platform.
A panel of distinguished judges will select game jam finalists to be further developed and shown at a special exhibition at IndieCade 2011. Finalists whose games are presented will receive Unity Pro Licenses, and will be eligible to win the LG Mobile 3D Award to be presented at the Red Carpet Award Ceremonies to be held at Culver Studios in Culver City October 7th, 2011. Awardees will also receive an LG Thrill 4G phone.
Sponsored by global consumer electronics leader LG and produced by IndieCade, the international festival of independent games, with additional support from from Unity and Alienware, the IndieCade Mobile 3D Game Jam will be hosted in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California's Interactive Media Division. Developers will have access to state of the art development facilities, including hardware and software to develop innovative prototypes for this cutting edge technology. LG Real 3D development kits and LG Thrill 4G phones will be on-hand for developers to test and play their prototypes. Games can be created in Unity, Android, and Java. Developers will retain ownership of their own IP produced during the game jam.
The event will be open to all indie game developers, including students and those employed at major studios, who have previous experience developing games. Spaces are limited, so sign up as an individual or with a team to secure your spot and join us for a weekend of innovation, creativity, artistry, and 3-Dimensionality!
