Bad Tomato Games

Balam (meaning jaguar in Mayan language) is a 2D metroidvania action video game inspired by Mayan culture.  The protagonist is a young, Mayan, mute girl destined to be a great jaguar warrior, but first she must go on a journey of self-discovery and sacrifice in order to find her true purpose and voice.  Balam relies on simple game mechanics and visual storytelling to immerse the player in a unique gaming experience. Many of protagonist core game mechanics will be based on the movements of the jaguar and different elements of Mayan culture.  For now (in this demo) the featured mechanics include: Claw attack (melee attack), cosmic light, double jump and sprint.
