Broken Reality is a single player first person adventure game set on a 3-D re-imagining of the Internet.
The game's world comes from the following questions: What if the Internet today was a place you could go to? What would it look like?
The 80s and 90s held many predicions, some ridiculous and some accurate, and we're blending them in with the actual use we give the internet today to create our world. We've taken a lot of aesthetic notes from Glitch Art, Vaporwave and the New Retro movements while generating a visual style.
The player's main drive in the beggining will be collection of Likes and the solving of puzzles through the use of a few tools which open new levels, but as the game advances they may find new goals which lead them to different endings.
The aforementioned tools include a Katana that cuts down ads, a Bookmarker that lets you mark a spot then teleport back to it, a Hookshot, a Camera, and a few more.
Comedy and satyre are key elements to the tone of the game. Our main goal is to create a fun game where taking a look at the textures in shops, details in ads, or talking with NPCs is a funny experience.
However, as much as the former is true, the game won't ultimately shy away from tackling themes like obsession, nostalgia, depression, self-worth, discrimination, and many others related to our virtual personas.
