Go! GO! Gattai is an easy strategy game that uses miniatures. The game sees a turf war between a yakuza group that has giant robots that combine and a food truck union that refuses to pay their protection money. The food truck union has made it so their food trucks combine into their own giant combiner robot to fend off the yakuza threat.
In this game, the miniatures actually combine, so you can make a combiner robot to tower over the buildings on the board. The use of a movement card for each player makes it so that you don't have to remember how any of your units move. The game has a lot of strategy without being difficult to get into, or play. At the start of the game, both sides only have 1 robot active, and the rest of their team is scattered across the board. The goal of the game is to activate the rest of your robots, take out any enemies, and if you can, combine into a giant robot. Each turn a player can move their units, attack any enemy units they're within range of, activate any robots they're in range of, and if they've activated all of their robots and have them near each other, combine them into one giant combiner robot!
I've always loved giant robots, but the kind that combine have always been the coolest to me. Looking at other games, there was none that let me actually combine the pieces to live out the fantasy of fighting with my own combiner robot. Miniatures games are popular currently, but so many are so complex that it's tough for new players to hop on board, or they require such an investment of money that many are priced out of playing. Go! GO! Gattai! will come with the 2 sets of combiner robots and everything needed to play right in the box, so that there's not a giant money sink needed to have fun.
