oQo is a 2D soothing puzzle game set in a minimalist world.
Generate and ride waves to unravel a pulsing universe, come across the path of other beings and weave your own story.
The main intention with oQo is to offer a relaxing experience. The light puzzles, soft and plain colors and ambient sounds aim to create a soothing atmosphere, where the player feels the game as a whole with no ludonarrative dissonance. He is expected to embrace the minimalist universe and create its own story from the simple elements that are presented to him. Nothing comes to interrupt this flow: the player doesn’t die, he just relocates when he can’t reach his goal, and the world isn’t reset when it happens, it just keeps on living. Choices are offered in a way that makes them almost invisible, and the state of the game should simply represents the state of mind of the player. The path in itself is the same for everyone, but each player will pick different elements along the way, that will have a discrete impact here and there, always with the ambition of having this seamless, coherent experience. The game is like a cloudy sky: though simple and abstract, it allows to imagine anything in its shapes.
