Cards and Castles is a competitive, free-to-play spin on collectible card and tactical games, for iOS/Android and PC/Mac (beta), where players use cards to build an army on a grid-based battlefield and challenge other players to epic battles! Create your own legend by combining factions of Crusaders, Vikings, Warlocks, Pirates, and Ninjas, and conquer the world with your army of unstoppable heroes.
The game is influenced by the playful, competitive nature and physicality of table-top play and collection games. As a result, Cards and Castles is a highly competitive strategy game in a tongue-in-cheek world full of illustrative combinations, intuitive gameplay, and colorful battles. By adding the card collection and deck building to a tactical game, weâ€™ve created a highly customizable way for players to personalize their playstyle and strategies. Players can become master collectors, seeking out every hand painted card to complete their sets, or refine their attack and rise through the ranks in tournaments play. Cards and Castles offers players a truly unique depth of customization in a strategy game.
Over time Matt "The Dark Lord" Siegel, CEO and CTO, recruited his friends and colleagues, smooth talking them into completing his vision. Dylan "The Builder" Marquez, Matt's colleague from Disney Interactive and previous startup venture, Double Jump Games, is our art director and user experience guru. "Master of Coin" Rob Del Papa and "Lady of Light" Cora (Matt's Wife) Hoogeboom Siegel, are our business leaders, marketing masters, and product managers. CJ Harrer, "The Idiot Sage", handles content design, community management, and QA duties. Although we have core responsibilities our team members wear many hats and play many important roles on our team. The game was developed in roughly a year, with help from other friends along the way. Since this game is such a personal project for us all, we more so consider ourselves a family than co-workers.
