Seltani is an experimental Myst Online fan text Twine MUD. But completely different from all of those things.
It's a fan riff on the (failed) Myst Online MMO; but it's entirely text. It's like an old-style MUD -- you can explore, solve puzzles, meet other players, and chat. But the interface is brand-new: hypertext rather than command-line, with accessible Twine-style world building. It's what Twine would be if it were multiplayer from the get-go, and focussed on being a Myst fan community rather than just a raw canvas.

Seltani was a collision between three frustrations. Classic MUDs were fun for building simple text worlds, but extremely difficult for complex ones. Twine was very easy to use for single-player experiences, but did not support multi-player ones. And the Myst Online player community loved the idea of building fan mods, but struggled with 3D modelling and with Cyan's antiquated MMO engine.
I decided to build a system that would solve all these problems at once.
Note: Seltani is a Myst fan-work. However, all of its content is original (or contributed by users). It contains no text or images created by Cyan Worlds; nor does it attempt to replicate the particular locations found in any Cyan game.

I'm a solo developer. Seltani's underlying (open-source) engine is my own work. The introductory areas and hub world are also my work.
However, many early testers and explorers have built worlds within Seltani. These contributions, as well as my own experiments, can be reached from the District hub.
