IndieCade & Horizons Internships

IndieCade is accepting applications for internships! Each internship is individual and the experience is tailored to our intern‘s goals and interests, in order to best serve their future and their career.

IndieCade’s internships are not paid, however we provide important benefits. These benefits will always be specifically tailored to each intern depending on interests and needs, additional  benefits can include academic credit (depending on school requirements), access to IndieCade events, free annual IndieCade memberships and/or submissions, networking and more. We are also able to provide letters of recommendation and introductions, as appropriate, upon request.

These are general categories and interns may have multiple responsibilities or just one priority assignment based on interest, experience and availability. We are also open to proposals for additional internship categories.

Submissions & Jury
-maintaining related forms and sheets
-communicating with jurors, submitters, and our Jury Committee
-assigning games for review, following-up, tracking
-Prefer availability through the summer at least
-Platforms: Google Sheets Apps Scripts required (JavaScript), JotForm
* specific benefit – opportunity to network with the community

Social & Community
-planning and executing specific campaigns for our events and for submissions
-keeping tabs on our channels, building conversations, responding to questions
-additional mods for Discord server
-Platforms: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord
* specific benefit – opportunity to network with the community – this is very broad – will reach alumni, as well as the developer community

Web Design & Maintenance
-maintaining and updating our existing webpages
-designing and building out new pages as needed
-manually uploading info for games, speakers, partners, etc.
-Platforms: CSS/HTML, WordPress
* specific benefit – something to show specifically in their portfolio.

Video Editing, Archiving, & Streaming
-pulling clips and editing sizzle reels
-highlighting and archiving our Twitch shows
-twitch mods and stream techs as needed
-graphics editing a plus
-Platforms: Twitch, Zoom, YouTube, Video Editing
* specific benefit – work for their portfolio

Graphics
-graphics for website promotion and social media, some graphics for the festival itself
-updating and adapting existing graphics
-designing/creating new graphics, editing existing ones
-Experience with Adobe Illustrator preferred
* specific benefit – create work for their portfolio, networking and potential freelance opportunities

Associate Producer
– producing opportunity on one or more specific IndieCade Twitch show, special event, conference, or activity.
– coordinating hosts, guests, and technological needs
– maintain schedule and timeline
– coordinate production and execution of graphics and promotion- opportunity to propose and spearhead own projects
* special benefits – networking, potential freelance opportunities

Student Ambassador
-Student Ambassadors act as liaisons between IndieCade and their schools and fellow students.
-They reach out to students about Horizons and other IndieCade events, create social and Discord outreach, and more.
-Student Ambassadors can also be regular IndieCade interns or standalone contacts.
-We are particularly interested in ambassadors who are a part of or even organizers for their school’s game club(s).

Are you an IndieCade Alumnus? We want to know! If you've been a speaker, organizer, juror, or presented your game at IndieCade or any IndieCade-related showcase (ex. IndieCade @ E3, IndieCade @ SIGGRAPH, etc. - doesn't need to have been a finalist) we'd like to be in touch.
