Skate & Date is a roller derby rhythm ga(y)me where you play as Maggie, the lead jammer of the Rockin Rollergirls!
She has a bit of a crush on Patricia – one of the opponents on the rival team.
Your objective: to impress her with your sick roller derby skills!
In the game, players must dodge their opponents to the beat and sometimes do special moves that affect the dialogue options in the story. Skate & Date originally began as a prototype for Yuri Game Jam in 2017. It was heavily inspired by the 70s and a general love for rhythm games.
It eventually went to Kickstarter where it was funded and was even on Kickstarter’s “Projects We Love” list. The game is aimed to come out in Spring 2019 on for Mac/Windows on Steam and Itch.io.
