IndieCade is an organization that supports independent game development and provides a series of international events exploring the future of independent games. IndieCade encourages, publicizes, and cultivates innovation and artistry in interactive media, helping to create a public perception of games as rich, diverse, artistic, and culturally significant.
IndieCade’s vibrant public festivals and showcases are dedicated to celebrating the wealth of creativity and voices within the independent games community. Our annual series of events highlight innovative indie games, productive networking environments, spaces for important discussions, fun play events, workshops, screenings, and much more.
What are the IndieCade events and when will they be held?
IndieCade has two primary events planned for 2019:
IndieCade Festival: October 10-12, 2019 | Santa Monica, California
IndieCade Europe: October, 2019 | Paris, France
Please see our website for additions to our schedule, specific dates, and updates on our latest events. In our SUBMISSION ESSENTIALS section, you can see the specific dates and requirements for submission deadlines.
NOTE: There is only one submission form for all of IndieCade events, but you may choose which event you are applying for within the submission form. There are separate fees for each event so that creators may choose which event(s) they would like to apply and pay for. If you would like to be considered for multiple events, you must pay the associated combination fee.
Additionally this year, IndieCade has initiated a membership program which in some cases offers complimentary or discounts for submissions (it does not impact the way your game is reviewed). For more information about the membership program please visit HERE.
I need help from others to develop my idea - can you put me in touch with possible collaborators?
Attending an IndieCade event is a great way to meet future collaborators. Over the years we have seen successful, IndieCade Finalist and Award Winning games developed by teams that had met at a previous IndieCade event.
You can submit your work-in-progress idea, as long as it’s playable, to IndieCade. By doing so, you automatically become eligible for two free passes to IndieXchange, our pre-Festival developer summit in Los Angeles - a full day of game creation workshops, networking opportunities, pitch sessions, and much more. Please see the INDIEXCHANGE section for more information.
Lastly, keep an eye on our website for news about IndieCade-organized game jam events, they are the perfect place to collaborate and create with other game makers.
